It features Ben Shepherd on double bass and Cameron Hicks on drumset, and I play alto sax, soprano sax, and bass clarinet. It is a particular joy of mine to perform in the classic "horn trio" setting, in which a level of transparency and freedom is easily achieved. Composing for this group has allowed me to explore not only melodic structures and rhythmic concepts, but has challenged me to find ways to demonstrate fullness and efficiency with only three voices.
